Hi
Welcome to Television-Magazine-Forum.
The Technicians Resource Centre.

Television-Magazine-Forum started life about seven years ago as a small forum hosted by a free forum company with just a few members. It soon became clear that there was interest in a professionally run forum.

It was around that time that the last attempt to keep our favourite magazine, Television & Consumer Electronics, failed.

Soon after I started work on a new version of the first forum, this involved paying a monthly fee and I had limited design access. I also started to contact former contributors to the magazine. This led to Donald Bullock allowing me to re-print his articles on the new forum.

This forum quickly grew to the point that I had to upgrade again to a PHPBB3 based forum that I had full control over. I also had to host it myself. It was a very interesting learning curve to say the least.
This forum was open to everyone including members of the public.

It quickly grew to over 800 members before I realised that the PHPBB3 software couldn't do the things I now needed it to.

So, after attracting a forum sponsor a few years ago I decided to go ahead and purchase a vBulletin Publishing Suite and VBSEO package.

After spending 3 months learning the software the new vbulletin based forum launched in December 2010.

Since the launch we have attracted over 455 members from the TV repair trade or associated business. And a good number of advertisers.

We are now strictly trade only but membership is available to those no longer in this trade, in similar trades, or those who are retired and just want to keep up-to-date. Membership is also available to advertisers and those just entering the trade.

The forum is now run with the help of a dedicated team of staff members.

The forum has recently undergone major changes with the introduction of various levels of membership including paid for options. This has allowed us to secure the forums future and allowed me to start work on some new features.

All visitors may post in this section but your post will be placed into moderation and will be posted only when a staff member has approved it. This is usually within an hour.

Please read the other posts in the Visitors section for more information on the forum.

I will be adding guided tour videos soon.

Many thanks for your interest in the forum.
